FOBS Win CRL 2013 Competition - 9th September 2013

On Monday, 9th September 2013, FOBS members attended a lunch, hosted by Community Rail Lancashire at their head quarters in Accrington Eco Station.  Following a CRL display, about the recent work of station adopters in the North West, and lunch, came the presentation of the awards for the CRL 'Station of the Year - 2013' Competition.  FOBS entered the competition back in May and Bentham Station was judged anonymously during August. We are pleased to report we came joint first along with the Friends of Meols Cop Station from the West Lancashire Line linking Wigan and Southport.  The Friends of Huncoats and Pendle Stations were also ‘highly commended’ for their work. The awards were presented by Richard Watts, Partnership Secretary for CRL.
