Who can apply?
can apply for a Dales Railcard if you are 16-years-old or over and live between:
- Skipton and Carlisle on the Leeds-Settle-Carlisle Line
- Skipton and Carnforth on the Bentham Line
- Carlisle and Brampton on the Hadrian's Wall Line
- Whalley and Hellifield
and your postcode is in one of the following areas:
- CA 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17
- DL 8, 11, 12
, 5, 6, 10
- BD 23, 24
- BB 7
Where can I use it?
You can purchase tickets to travel between all stations shown on the map above, plus Brampton and Wetheral on the Hadrian's Wall Line and between Whalley, Clitheroe and Hellifield (Sundays only). However, your journey cannot
start and finish
within the Leeds-Bradford-Skipton area or the Carnforth-Lancaster-Morecambe area.
How much does it cost?
The Dales Railcard costs £13 per person. It is valid for one year from the date of purchase and can only be used by the person named on the railcard.
How much can I save?
You save 1/3rd on the cost of Single, Day Return and Period Return tickets between valid stations. Up to four children, aged 5 to 15 years inclusive, can travel with a Dales Railcard holder. The child fare is based on an 81% discount on the adult fare, with the
minimum child fare being £1.
Are there any other benefits?
Dales Railcard holders will be able to take advantage of the annual
when you will be able to travel the routes for a specially reduced flat fare.

The flat fare is £7.00 on the Bentham line and £9.00 for journeys on the Settle-Carlisle Line. Up to four children could accompany the Dales Railcard Holder for £3.50 each, (£4.50 on the Settle-Carlisle Line).
The offer is available by any train on the Bentham Line and any Settle-Carlisle service except 05.50 Carlisle to Leeds. No time restriction at weekends or bank holidays.
How do I apply for the first time or renew an existing card?
Complete the application form in the leaflet and take it to Carnforth, Settle or Skipton railway station with proof of your address and identity; for example, a driving licence and a utilities bill. Alternatively, visit the Settle-Carlisle Railway Development Company website at
